Citrus County Life Magazine is a quarterly publication about life in Citrus County, written FOR Citrus County residents, BY Citrus County residents. The magazine’s debut issue was its 84-page Winter 2005 edition (January/February/March). The magazine presents stylish design and production, high-quality photography, top-quality printing and informative feature writing, all intended to focus on news of interest about homes, gardens and lifestyles of this area. The premiere issue included feature articles on home water gardens, xeriscaping, growing grapes, new trends in floor tile, options about kitchen sinks, bird watching, medical reports, sports and a special section devoted to the Spring 2005 Parade of Homes.
"Citrus County Life has been launched to great acclaim," said Stan Solovich, co-publisher of the magazine with Bob Crowley. "The feedback has been tremendous."
"We wanted a magazine that reflected the true spirit of Citrus County," added Crowley. "With the responses we’ve received from readers and advertisers, we know we have accomplished our objective."
The second issue, distributed in April 2005, featured stories about the growing interest among homeowners for in-home theaters, tips on how to organize all of your possessions in your home and garage, an interesting article about Withlacoochee Technical Institute’s Culinary Arts program, reasons why you should plant the "Cracker Rose", the hardiest of roses, and a special story about how three local physicians, from three totally different fields, are achieving positive results with surgical procedures utilizing minimally invasive techniques.
"With our nearly equal mix of editorial to advertising, the readers tell us the articles are easy to read and that they are more apt to spend more time with the magazine. This is important to our advertisers as well," said Solovich.
Citrus County Life is produced by B/S Publications LLC, located in Hernando. It is co-owned by Stan Solovich and Bob Crowley. Inverness resident and accomplished writer Megan W. Carella, APR, is the editor. The magazine is designed and produced by Crowley & Company Advertising, Inc. of Hernando. Joanne Crowley is the magazine’s Art Director.
